Four Vehicle Accident Blocks The Causeway Between Centre And Cedar Bluff / UPDATED

A total of four vehicles were involved in an accident that occurred Tuesday afternoon at the construction zone on Alabama Highway 9 between Centre and Cedar Bluff.

Fortunately, only one one person was hurt during the incident.

According to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident reports, among the vehicles involved were a 2003 Jeep driven by a male resident of Centre; a 2019 Honda, driven by a female from Centre – and a 2012 Ford being driven by a female resident of Cedar Bluff – all of whom escaped injury;  the only driver that was listed on reports as being hurt was the driver of a 2008 Chevrolet – a male resident of Snellville, Georgia – and, no additional information was available regarding his condition.

The accident, which took place at 2:45pm, led to that stretch of Highway 9 just before the Cedar Bluff Bridge being closed for an extended period of time.

Those responding to the scene included Floyd EMS,  Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Centre and Cedar Bluff Police and Firefighters, Rescue Squad; Cherokee County EMA; and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

That wreck remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
