The four year old child struck by a car in Rome on Friday night is listed in good condition at Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital.
Campbell Epting, along with her father and six year old brother, were hit by a Chevy Tahoe on Shorter Avenue near Sherwood Drive.
According to law enforcement officials – the driver of the Tahoe was attempting to avoid an accident that had just occurred and when he tried to change lanes, he hit an icy patch, then made a 180-degree turn and struck the family on the sidewalk.
All three victims were taken from the scene to Floyd Medical Center by ambulance with the four year old later being transferred to Scottish Rite.
The driver of the vehicle was charged with driving too fast for conditions.
