A Ft Payne man was taken into custody on several arrest warrants Tuesday afternoon.
Jeremy Slade Hughes age 37 was taken into custody following an extensive investigation by the Ft Payne Police Department’s Detective and Patrol Divisions, DeKalb County Drug Task Force and DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.
Hughes had been the focus of a number of investigations – conducted by multiple agencies – into illegal drug activity and stolen goods, both in and around the Ft Payne area.
He has been arrested on the charges of Receiving Stolen Property 2nd Degree in connection with an enclosed cargo trailer that was stolen from Wills Valley Community Church; a Theft of Property 1st Degree offense, related to a pickup truck stolen in Jackson County; and with four counts of Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine).
Hughes was processed at the Ft Payne City Jail, then moved to the DeKalb County Detention Center.
