Ft Payne Man Charged with Drug Trafficking After Crashing Motorcycle in High-Speed Chase

On Monday Ft Payne Police Chief Randy Bynum released information on a high-speed chase involving a motorcycle that took place Thanksgiving night.

Just before 9:30 officers attempted to pull over a 2009 Suzuki motorcycle when the driver choose to flee making improper turns, running stop signs and passing a number of cars and traveling up 3rd Street Gap before finally crashing in the curve while attempting to pass yet another car.

Christopher Adam Berry, 40 of Ft Payne was taken into custody at the scene charged with Drug Trafficking/Cocaine (42 grams), Attempting to Elude, Reckless Endangerment, as well Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and a host of Driving Citations.  

Berry was also arrested August 4th on drug charges – and was arrested again in September after being found in possession of narcotics, while the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office was in the process of searching for a runaway juvenile.
