Back in September of that year, Ft Payne Police responded to a domestic violence report on Godfrey Avenue North, and arrived to find a woman with blood on her hand; Franklin Ledel Blevins was identified as a suspect and he was seen in an alleyway behind the home.
Blevins then fled the scene, leading officers on a high-speed chase into the Adamsburg area, where he lost control of his vehicle near the intersection of Highway 35 and County Road 295; his truck then crashed into a tree, fatally injuring Ivy, who was a passenger in the vehicle.
According to the Ft Payne Times-Journal Blevins was on federal probation at the time of the accident.
No information has been released regarding a sentencing date.
