Details remain sketchy – however a Ft Payne patrol car was apparently involved in an auto accident Wednesday night at around 7:30.

WAFF TV48 is reporting that the accident took place at the intersection of Highway 35 and Airport Road, resulting in the officer being treated for minor injuries. WEIS Radio News has spoken with the Alabama State Trooper Post at Jacksonville and according to their accident report the driver of the patrol car was 23 year old Raphael Cruz of Ft Payne, and the driver of the second vehicle, a 2006 GMC, was listed as 28 year old Henagar resident Billy Bellew.

Both men were listed as being hurt in the wreck, however no details regarding the extent of their injuries was noted.

Alabama State Troopers are reportedly conducting the investigation.
