At around 9:30 Thursday night Ft Payne Police Officers and DeKalb Drug Task Force Agents went to 4915 Martin Avenue, Apartment G-2, which is directly across from Ft Payne Middle School – to investigate possible drug activity.
Ft Payne Police Chief Randy Bynum stated that once inside the residence, those officers and agents were given written and verbal consent by the lessee, Mildred Christina Thompson, age 42, to search the premises. During a subsequent search officers discovered several syringes and baggies of light brown powder substance. The light brown powder substance tested to be Heroin.
Thompson was arrested and charged with the Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance in addition to Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
