A Ft Payne woman was recently arrested on counterfeit money charges.
A search warrant was executed at the home of 49 year old Carol Marie Gass, back on August 17th (2016), which resulted in her arrest on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. At that time, she was also found to be in possession of what was believed to be drug money.
Following an investigation by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, and DeKalb County Drug & Major Crimes Unit, it was determined that the money was counterfeit – leading to the arrest last week of Gass on two counts of First Degree Possession of a Forged Instrument.
