Coach Bobby Joe Johnson, age 80 of Centre, passed away Monday, November 30th at his residence.
A private graveside service will be held at the Johnson Family Cemetery with a memorial service to be held on Sunday, December 13th from 12 until 2 PM at The Cherokee County High School, Bobby Joe Johnson Field with Rev. Shane Swafford officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Doloris Butler Johnson; sons, Brad (Stacy Pittman) Johnson of Cullman, Marc (Katherine Matthews) Johnson of Centre, Blake (Joanna Bazemore) Johnson of Centre; sister, Ginger (Tom) Little of Centre; 10 grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.
Coach Johnson was a native of Cherokee County, the son of the late Walter Elliot and Reba Webb Johnson, he was an Educator and head football coach at Cherokee County High School, Saks High School in Anniston, and Trion High School in Trion, GA, and was of the Methodist faith.
