“Funniest Man in America” A Huge Hit In Cherokee County Concert For First Responders

James Gregory 4The “Funniest Man in America” – certainly proved to be one of the biggest draws that Cherokee County has ever seen, with a July 27th appearance that attracted more than 1,200 fans.

James Gregory performed a special Benefit Show for Area First Responders – in the arena on the campus of Gadsden State Cherokee in Centre; that show was organized by Kevin Green and Jake Graves of Paul Davis Restoration – who wanted to give the community an opportunity to express their gratitude to those who give so much each and every day of their lives.  All First Responders from Cherokee County and surrounding areas were invited to see that show FREE of charge, and more than 700 took Kevin and Jake up on the offer and had a great time!

Kevin Green told WEIS Radio that first responders from Cherokee County and from the outlying areas gathered at the arena, along with more than 500 members of the public, to enjoy Gregory’s brand of family-friendly, “down home” humor.

James G 3He’s been traveling across the country and around the world for approximately 25 years and he’ll certainly be welcomed back to Cherokee County with open arms in the future.

Green said he hopes to make this an annual event – one which will help to raise awareness of the important role our first responders play in the lives of everyone in the community.

Green also wished to thank all those who helped sponsor this year’s event.
