Gadsden Home Burns to the Ground in Wake of Recent Rape and Robbery

Gadsden Fire 100A Gadsden house where a woman was reportedly raped and robbed earlier in the Month – (April, 2015) has burned to the ground.

Late last week firefighters responded overnight to the structure – located in the 2100 block of Norris Avenue – and despite their efforts, the home was a total loss.

On April 13th, three people broke into that house and robbed the homeowner – with one of the three, a 17 year old, reportedly raping the woman and afterwards demanding money.

The victim convinced the suspect that a neighbor handled her money and they then went to the neighbor’s home – where the 59 year old shot and killed the teenager.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
