A Gadsden man has been arrested after attempting to elude Cedar Bluff Police on Thursday afternoon.

Officer Chris Vaughn with the Cedar Bluff PD told WEIS Radio News that he attempted to stop a Kawasaki Ninja driven by 19 year old Ian Michael Parrott after he clocked him in excess of 90 miles per hour on the Cedar Bluff Bridge.

Parrott failed to stop and eluded Officer Vaughn up Highway 9 North where speeds reached in excess of 100 miles per hour, Cedar Bluff Officer Seth Hood joined the pursuit assisting Vaughn, before the chase ended on County Road 121 near the state line.

Officer Vaughn said that Parrott told him he ran because he already knew he was speeding.

Parrott was booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center at 4:45 Thursday afternoon charged with Fleeing/Attempting to Elude and was being held on a $500 bond.
