37 year old Jonathan DeWayne Kirk of Gadsden is in the Etowah County Detention Center after being arrested on felony charges of Burglary 3rd Degree and Theft of Property First Degree, and one count of 3rd Degree Theft by Deception, which is a misdemeanor.
According to Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin, Kirk allegedly broke into a home located on Yancey Drive, where he stole a riding lawn mower, chainsaw, a hedge trimmer and utility trailer; he attempted to hide the utility trailer at his residence in Gadsden, and sold several of the items at an area pawn shop.
All of the stolen property has since been recovered and returned to the rightful owner.
Kirk is currently being held on bond of $8,500.
