An Etowah County resident was placed under arrest locally, on multiple charges, during the early morning hours of Monday.

According to Investigator Jamie Chatman with the Leesburg PD the suspect led officers on a brief foot chase before being taken into custody.  Chatman was assisted by Leesburg Officer Hunter Brisendine, Sheriff’s Office Deputies, and Officers of both the Centre and Cedar Bluff Police Departments. 

The incident occurred around 11:00pm Sunday.

Thomas Jason Bragg, age 47 of Gadsden was booked into jail at 12:17am – charged with the Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, with Resisting Arrest and Attempting to Elude.

Bond has been set at $7,500.

Bragg also has felony warrants out of Etowah County.
