Gadsden Man Arrested on Robbery Charge in Cherokee County

GauthierAccording to Chief Kirk Blankenship, at approximately 10:00pm Tuesday, the Centre Police Department received a call from central dispatch saying that an individual had been robbed at knife point in the Wendy’s parking lot.

Dispatch gave officers a description of two black males, who reportedly fled from the scene in a white Jeep Cherokee, and were traveling toward Etowah County. Shortly after the Bolo was given, Officer Daniel Wooten spotted the vehicle and with Leesburg Officer Joe Johnson conducted a felony traffic stop, taking the two suspects into custody.

Narcotics officers Will Clark, Matt Peek and Chief Kirk Blankenship all arrived on scene and conducted an investigation into the alleged robbery resulting in the arrest of Ryan Gauthier of Gadsden on a charge of first degree robbery.

Chief Blankenship wishes to commend his officers for their quick actions and also wishes to Leesburg Officer Joe Johnson for his assistance in apprehending the suspects; he would also like to express gratitude to the officers who assume the risks that law enforcement officers take each day to safeguard and protect the citizens.
