On Tuesday of this week (December 17th) a man reported to Gadsden Police officers that he was attacked inside his own home in the 1300 block of Alabama Avenue.

The 27 year old complainant said he was asleep inside the residence when, according to his wife, two young Hispanic males stopped by for a visit.  She said one of the men came to the front door while the other remained outside.

She woke her husband up and he met the young man at the front door – at which time the suspect assaulted her husband – with what appeared to possibly be a blade from a food processor.

The victim suffered numerous cuts, lacerations and stab wounds and was treated by medics prior to be taken to Gadsden Regional Medical Center for further treatment.

According to detectives the victim is currently listed in stable condition, and the incident remains under investigation.
