The discovery of more than 600 pornographic images, and video, found in the possession of a 20 year old Gadsden resident – has led to his arrest on charges of child pornography.

Pablo Gabriel Urbina was arrested following an investigation that stretched over three months – with that operation including a joint effort including officials from the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office – United States Secret Service Electronics Crimes Task Force – Department of Homeland Security Investigations – and the Etowah County District Attorney’s Office.

Urbina has been charged with one count of Possession of Child Pornography, and with one count of Production of Obscene Matter Containing Visual Depictions of Person under 17 Years of Age Involved in Obscene Acts. Both are felony charges.

It’s believed that Urbina also distributed the obscene material on-line.

He was taken into custody at his home on Merit Circle in Gadsden around 10:30 Tuesday night – and booked into the Etowah County Detention Center, where he’s currently being held on a cash bond of $250,000.

The investigation into the matter is on-going.
