Gadsden Man Killed After Being Hit By Two Cars

A Gadsden man died after he was struck by one vehicle Friday night, and then another.

Etowah County Coroner Michael Head said Gordon Williams, Jr., 71, was walking across East Meighan Boulevard, headed toward Springfield Avenue, after having made a purchase at a store.

At approximately 8:02 p.m., he was struck by a Buick at the intersection, which had a green light, traveling west.
The collision threw Williams onto the Buick’s hood.

Williams apparently stayed on the hood for 131 feet, when the driver pulled over. When the car stopped, the motion threw Williams off the hood. He was then struck by a Volkswagen, killing him.

Police are investigating the incident.
