Gadsden Police Arrest A Man In Connection To Numerous Burglaries Around The Gadsden Area

On Tuesday at approximately 3:26 a.m., Officers from the Gadsden Police Department responded to several alarm calls around the downtown area of Gadsden. When Officers arrived on the scenes, they discovered that they all had been burglarized.

Upon further investigation and review of video evidence, it was determined that these burglaries were committed by a tall, skinny, black male who was wearing a large coat. Patrol officers observed someone matching that description in the area of these crimes. When officers tried to talk to the suspect, he fled the scene on foot. He was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit.

The suspect, Isaiah Lumnick Jr, was charged initially with Burglary and placed in the Etowah County Jail on a $25,000.00 cash bond. The Criminal Investigations Division diligently reviewed similar open cases and found evidence to link Isaiah Lumnick Jr to at least 20 other burglaries of business and churches in Gadsden.

The quick response and unwavering search by patrol officers the night of the 28th led to the apprehension of this serial burglar. The Criminal Investigations Division is continuing to look for links to other burglaries Isaiah Lumnick Jr. could be involved in.
