Gadsden Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding an attack on a 37 year old Walnut Park resident on Saturday (November 2nd).
The victim told police he’d been walking in the 300 block of South 12th Street at around 1:00am, when three white males jumped him, hit him in the head with a 2×4 and stole $40 from his wallet
The man was taken to Riverview Regional Medical Center for treatment following the assault.

What apparently began as an argument between a man and his ex-girlfriend Sunday Night, ended with the man suffering severe head injuries – reportedly due to his own actions.
The woman told officers that she and the 21 year old man had been arguing all day – and, as they were driving in the 1800 block of Rainbow Drive shortly before 9:00pm that argument had again flared up – with the young man threatening to “jump out of the car.”
And according to the young woman’s statement – he did.
She said they were traveling at around 35 mph when he jumped from the vehicle.
Following the incident the young man was transported by helicopter to UAB for treatment.
Gadsden Police are still looking into the matter.

A 45 year old Woman was reportedly attacked in the 1100 block of Stillman Avenue on Saturday morning.
Gadsden Police responded to the scene around 10:30am to find the woman with her face covered in blood – suffering several gashes to the head and face area.
She stated that a 76 year old male acquaintance had attacked her, possibly with a boot, during the early morning hours as she slept.
The victim was taken to Gadsden Regional Medical Center for treatment while the unnamed man was arrested and charged with assault first degree.
The incident remains under investigation.

Gadsden Police arrested a 26 year old East Gadsden resident at around 1:40am Saturday, after he was caught breaking into cars parked in the lot of the apartment complex where he lives.
Officers responded to Brookville Apartments, following numerous complaints that a man using a flashlight was looking into parked cars; after the suspect was apprehended by police he was ID’d by residents of the complex as being the man in question.
Officers found a cell phone and keys underneath a vehicle where they stopped the suspect.
The unnamed individual was charged with two separate counts of Unlawful Breaking & Entering of a Vehicle before being transported to the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office pending warrants.
The incident remains under investigation.
