Gadsden Police Investigating After A Man Was Shot In The Face In Gadsden

An 18-year-old Gadsden man was shot in the face Wednesday during an apparent argument with another man.

The incident happened at 7:50 p.m. in the 1200 block of Slusser Avenue, according to police reports. The victim told police he was accosted in his driveway by a 24-year-old man. The victim said his ex-girlfriend told the man the victim had broken into his house, and had come looking to fight him.

When the victim attempted to walk away, the man pulled a gun and told him to lie flat on the ground and kiss it. When he would not, the two began to struggle and the man fired a shot, which missed. In the struggle, the man fired another shot, striking the victim three inches below his right eye.

The victim told police he “played dead” until the shooter fled in a 2001 Black BMW. He then called 911. He was taken to Gadsden Regional Medical Center.

Police are investigating.
