Gadsden State and Alabama State to Host Virtual News Conference Wednesday

GADSDEN STATE, ALABAMA STATE TO HOST VIRTUAL NEWS CONFERENCE

WHO: Gadsden State Community College and Alabama State University

WHAT:  Alabama State University and Gadsden State Community College will sign an agreement between the two institutions formalizing a transfer articulation agreement aimed at better supporting students interested in transferring to ASU.

WHEN: 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 13

CONFERENCE INFO: Gadsden State President Dr. Martha Lavender and ASU President Dr. Quinton Ross Jr. will virtually sign a memorandum of understanding that will provide students a smooth transition from an associate degree at Gadsden State to a bachelor’s degree at ASU. 

The MOU signing was originally scheduled for April on Gadsden State’s East Broad Campus. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the MOU signing has been moved to Wednesday’s live virtual ceremony. This will be among the very first virtual signing agreements between Alabama institutions of higher education.

WHERE TO WATCH: The virtual MOU signing will live stream on the Alabama State University Facebook page. It will also post on ASU’s Academic Affairs YouTube Channel.
