Gadsden State Student, Beauchamp Wins Statewide Scholarship Award

Gadsden State Community College student Cole Beauchamp has been awarded the 2017 Alabama Home Builders Foundation Scholarship. He was nominated by Deborah Reynolds, electrical engineering technology instructor.  The Alabama Home Builders Foundation Scholarship was founded in 1995 with a mission to help fund deserving students who are interested in pursuing an education in the residential building trades in the state. The Foundation has since awarded over $500,000 in scholarships to more than 1,000 students.

Scholarships are given to students who are enrolled in a construction-related curriculum, such as civil engineering, carpentry, drafting and design, electrical technology, plumbing and HVACR.

Beauchamp, who has a 3.9 grade point average, is working toward an Associate in Science in Electrical Technologies. He plans to graduate in the fall of 2018.

At the recent Honors Day Program at Gadsden State’s Wallace Drive Campus, Beauchamp also received the Cardinal Foundation/Gerald Acker Scholarship and the Gadsden State Alumni Association Scholarship.

He is a native of Albertville and the son of Allen Beauchamp and the late Tracy Beauchamp.
