STUDENTS INDUCTED INTO PHI THETA KAPPA
The Rho Rho Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Gadsden State Community College recently held an Induction Ceremony for new members. Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, headquartered in Jackson, Mississippi, is the largest honor society in higher education with 1,285 chapters on college campuses in all 50 of the United States and internationally. Local students inducted are:

SOCIETY OF SUCCESS INDUCTS NEW CLASS OF LEADERS
Sigma Alpha Pi, the Gadsden State Chapter of the National Society for Leadership and Success, recently inducted new student members. To be eligible for membership, students attend at least three motivational seminars, three success-networking meetings and one leadership training seminar. Six faculty and staff members were recognized this year for excellence in teaching or service. Biology instructor Cynthia Freeman; Dr. Hugh Hammer, Aquaculture instructor; and Jesse Osborn, math instructor were recognized with the Excellence in Teaching Award. Excellence in Service awards were presented to Dr. Cheryl Cephus-Vickers, associate dean of student services/director of counseling services; Pam Clough, Arledge Center coordinator, and Jennifer Williams, transcript evaluator. An honorary membership was awarded to Dr. Martha Lavender, interim president.

NATIONAL TECH HONOR SOCIETY INDUCTION
The National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) at Gadsden State has added new members. The organization is a leader in providing recognition for excellence in career and technical education, creating significant occupational opportunities for America’s top workforce education students, access to an employment database maintained by the organization and letters of recommendation to gain employment, scholarships and college admission. Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher for a
technical program major, the recommendation of a faculty member, and be active in their community to qualify for membership. Students inducted are:
