A 26 year old Gadsden woman was arrested on Tuesday on charges of Chemical Endangerment for exposing a child to an environment in which controlled substances are ingested, produced or distributed, which is a felony.
According to Etowah County Investigator Brandi Fuller, 26 year old Ashley Sue Edwards was arrested after she tested positive for amphetamines and admitting to taking Roxycontin and Suboxone while pregnant.
Edwards is currently being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on a $10,000 property bond. Upon release, Edwards will be supervised by Etowah County Community Corrections and must successfully complete a treatment program.
This case is also under investigation through Etowah County DHR.
