Authorities continue to investigate the shooting death of a 52-year old Gadsden woman at a home in St. Clair County Friday evening.
The St. Clair County Coroner has identified the victim as 52-year-old Carolyn Browning, of Gadsden.
Browning died after being shot in the face at a home on Maverick Drive in Ashville shortly after 6 p.m.
Authorities have yet to release details surrounding the shooting as an investigation remains ongoing.
ABC 33/40 in Birmingham is reporting that a 13-year-old boy was inside the home at the time of the incident, but it is unclear at this time if he had any involvement in the shooting.
Investigators are expected to release more information about the case in the near future.
