Gas Prices On The Rise As Part Of The Second Phase Of The Gas Tax

It’s about to cost you more to fill up at the gas pump.

It’s all part of the state’s gas tax to improve roads across Alabama.

In about two weeks the price you pay at the pump will increase 2 cents per gallon to start the second phase of the gas tax.

About one year into Alabama’s 10-cent gas tax hike we are already seeing changes on roads across North Alabama.

The bid opening for the Highway 411 Project is set to take place on Friday. Dirt should start being moved around 90 days after the bid is awarded.

The project will include roughly five miles between Cherokee and Etowah counties which has not been four-laned.  This will provide Cherokee County with its first four-lane access to an interstate, which is critical for economic development.
