Gaylesville boys rally for 56-52 win over Jefferson Christian

GAYLESVILLE – Kyler Bradley connected on a 3-pointer with 35 seconds remaining, and Jacob Gordon added a late free throw to rally the Gaylesville Trojans to a 56-52 boys basketball win over visiting Jefferson Christian on Friday night.

Bradley and Gordon’s points completed an 11-point comeback after three quarters, which Jefferson Christian led 48-37.

Jefferson Christian also led 18-13 at the end of the first quarter and held a 33-23 halftime advantage.

Gordon and Keylon Higgins both scored 14 points to lead the Trojans (1-1). Gordon also grabbed four boards and Higgins had 11 rebounds. Gage White contributed 10 points and seven boards. Bradley finished with nine points and had four steals. Briley Mitchell grabbed nine boards and had three points.

In the girls’ game, the Lady Trojans fell to 0-2 with a 44-27 setback.

Paisley Bryson led Gaylesville with 10 points. Star Mayes came away with eight points and Peyton Bright finished with five points.
