Gaylesville defeats Gaston in Monday volleyball action

GADSDEN – Sydney Smith collected eight kills, four aces and a pair of blocks to lead the Gaylesville Lady Trojans to a volleyball victory at Gaston on Monday. The scores were 25-9, 18-25, 25-14, 25-10.

Aubrie Peek added six kills and three digs for the Lady Trojans (3-1). Emma Givens contributed seven aces and three assists. Andreah Calvert came away with five aces and a kill. Peyton Bright managed four assists and an ace. Delaney Coker delivered a pair of digs. Jayden Dobbins finished with an assist.

The Lady Trojans fell to Coosa Christian back on Thursday. They won the first set 25-16, but then dropped the next three 29-31, 23-25 and 10-25.

Coker collected 12 digs and a kill. Peek posted seven kills and a pair of aces. Givens had five assists and two aces. Bright contributed three assists, a kill and an ace. Smith managed three kills and a block. Dobbins delivered two kills. Calvert finished with a dig and an ace.

Gaylesville is scheduled to host North Sand Mountain and Jacksonville Christian this evening at 5 p.m.
