Gaylesville Man Arrested After Being Left Stranded by His Girlfriend at Summerville Convenience Store

A Gaylesville resident was arrested by Summerville Police on Sunday night – after being left stranded at a convenience store on Commerce Street.

According to reports, 28 year old Steven Willis Maxwell told the responding officers that he and his girlfriend “had been fighting all day.”

He and his girlfriend ended up getting into a physical altercation at the Circle K store and at point, she – apparently fed up with the confrontations – got in the vehicle and drove away – alone.

He reportedly ran down the road toward Title Max Title Pawn – where he was soon met by law enforcement.

When police arrived, Maxwell admitted he’d shoved his girlfriend, and “held her against the car when she threatened to leave.”  Police say that Maxwell smelled of alcohol, and said that he’d had “four beers” prior to fighting with his girlfriend at the convenience store.

Maxwell was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Public Intoxication.
