Gaylesville Man Arrested in Chattooga County on Drug Charges Over the Weekend

A Summerville Police officer noticed a suspicious transaction at the Circle K gas station on the Lyerly Highway Saturday night that subsequently led to the arrest of a Gaylesville, man.

The officer saw two men handing off something to each other and was able to stop one of the vehicles when it left the gas station. The officer pulled over twenty-five-year-old Cody W. Aycock after he ran his tag and found out that the registration was suspended.  The officer said that Aycock also had no insurance on the 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe that he was driving.

Aycock told the officer that he didn’t have the money to get the tag and insurance.  As the officer spoke with Mr. Aycock, the officer could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.  Police found two marijuana cigarettes and several orange plastic bags, some of which field tested for methamphetamine.

Aycock was charged with possession of meth, possession of meth with intent to distribute, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, driving with suspended registration, driving without insurance and licenses not on person and was booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
