Gaylesville Man Arrested on Violation of Sex Offender Registration Notification Act

A 24 year old Cherokee County man was arrested Wednesday evening on a violation of the Sex Offender Registration Notification Act.

Jimmie Lee Hunter was picked up on the charge and booked into jail shortly before 8:00pm – he’s listed on the Sheriff’s Office website of Registered Sex Offenders residing in Cherokee County as living at 2595 County Road 133 in Gaylesville.  It’s unclear where he had been staying without notifying authorities as required by law and violating the terms of the Sex Offender Registration Notification Act. 

Hunter must register, according to information posted on the sheriff’s office website, due to his conviction on a charge of Child Molestation.

He currently remains in the Cherokee County Detention Center with bond set at $10,000 on the SORNA violation.
