Gaylesville Man Involved in Tuesday Night Domestic Dispute Lands in Jail

CCSO - LatingerDuring the midst of Tuesday night’s snowstorm, one Cherokee County resident became involved in a domestic dispute, which ultimately led to his being given a ride to jail.

According to Sheriff Jeff Shaver, at about 9:30pm, deputies were dispatched to a home regarding a fight between 55 year old Gaylesville resident Derrick Lastinger and his son.  When the deputy tried to diffuse the situation, Lastinger reportedly resisted arrest and fought the deputy.

Lastinger was injured in that scuffle and was treated at a local hospital before being booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center on charges of Resisting Arrest and Domestic Violence 3rd Degree.

He has since been released on $1,500 bond.
