Gaylesville softball rallies past Gaston

GAYLESVILLE – The Gaylesville Lady Trojans rallied from a six-run, second-inning deficit to earn a 13-7 softball win over Gaston on Tuesday.

Sierra Holbrook led the Gaylesville hitters with three hits, including a triple, a double and three RBIs. Emma Givens, Anna Hartline and Andreah Calvert each went 2-for-3 with a double. Givens drove in three runs. Hartline drove in a pair of runs, and Calvert brought home another run. Shonda Epps, Peyton Bright and Malaya Shireman each had a pair of hits.

Shireman also picked up the win after working six innings in the circle. She gave up one earned run on six hits with six strikeouts.

Gaylesville hosts Valley Head on Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m.
