Gaylesville Woman Arrested on DUI Charge in Northwest Georgia

A Gaylesville woman was recently arrested and charged with driving under the influence in northwest Georgia after being reported to law enforcement by several motorists.

According to reports, around 10:00 last Friday night a Chattooga County Sheriff’s Deputy in Summerville spotted a black Kia Optima changing lanes a number of times without a signal being used and failing to maintain a single lane – the vehicle also matched a lookout placed earlier that evening for a car where the driver had been “all over the road…”

The deputy initiated a traffic stop and the driver identified herself as Cynthia Langley, 54 of a County Road 41 address in Gaylesville; she was unable to find her license.  When asked if she had had anything to drink, she replied “No,” however the deputy spotted two unopened cans of beer in the driver’s side floorboard and an open can of beer near the driver.

According to the report, Langley was unsteady on her feet and finally admitted that she had been consuming alcohol.

She was placed under arrest and taken to the Redmond EMS Station in Summerville for an alcohol blood test.  She was then transported to the Chattooga County Jail and booked in on a charge of DUI.
