Georgia Fugitive Arrested In Cherokee Co. On Charges Of Violating The Sex Offender Registration Notification Act

Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver and Sheriff’s Office investigators assisted the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force in the apprehension of a Georgia fugitive. 

On Wednesday, 59 year old Danny Everett Moon was taken into custody at a residence in the McCord’s community, where he had been staying. Moon is a registered sex offender in Polk County, Georgia, and is wanted in Georgia on sex offender registration related charges.  

Moon was transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center on a new Alabama Sex Offender Registration Notification Act violation and awaits extradition to Polk County.
