Last week, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp announced a $43 million expansion at the Roper Corporation plant in LaFayette, Georgia. That expansion is expected to add around 100 new jobs. GE Appliances also reportedly plans to build a logistics center in Murray County and a “smart warehouse” in Jackson County, Georgia.
Governor Kemp stated, “These jobs in Walker, Jackson and Murray counties will provide greater opportunity for hard working Georgians…and we’re excited to announce GE’s expanded footprint in north Georgia”.
The plans include the launching of several new cooking products at GE’s Roper plant. With those added jobs it will bring the total number of employees at the Lafayette facility to over 2,000.
GE Appliances is owned by Haier – a Chinese corporation.
