Centre Police Department received an anonymous tip on Saturday stating their was a registered Georgia sex offender who had been working at a business located across the street from Centre Elementary School.

Officers Matt Peek, Will Clark, Seth Rochester, and Wayne Reed responded to the business to investigate the situation.

After making contact with the offender and notifying his Georgia probation officer it was discovered that 28 year old Eric Ray Young Jr. of Douglasville was in violation of The Sex Offenders Registration and Notification Act.

The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Cherokee County Detention Center.
