A Tennessee man was fatally injured last Friday (February 27th) in a freak accident in DeKalb County.
According to Sheriff Jimmy Harris, 56 year old Thomas Keith of Soddy-Daisy, was killed when a trailer being pulled by a truck, fell on top of him.
The man behind the wheel was in the process of driving away – when he noticed the trailer wasn’t properly hooked and the trailer was starting to turn over. After the driver got out of the vehicle, he noticed Keith was underneath the trailer and he immediately dialed 9-1-1.
DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Deputies, Ft Payne Firefighters & members of the Ider Police and Fire Departments responded to the scene.
District Attorney Mike O’Dell ordered an autopsy be performed – and the investigation into the incident is on-going.
