A pedestrian was killed early Tuesday morning after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 59 in Etowah County.
According to Curtis Summerville, Public Information Officer for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, 28 year old Marius M. Hillius of Fayetteville, Georgia was struck and killed while walking on the interstate by a 1994 Peterbilt tractor trailer.
Hillius was pronounced dead at he scene.
The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured. The crash occurred at 3:15 a.m. on Interstate 59 at the 177 mile marker four miles north of Attalla.
Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
