Geraldine boys too much for Collinsville in Class 3A, Area 12 championship

GERALDINE – Keajuan Hatley scored a game-high 20 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, in leading the Geraldine Bulldogs past Collinsville 82-48 in the Class 3A, Area 12 boys basketball championship game on Friday.

Colt Lusher netted 13 points for the sixth-ranked Bulldogs (23-4). Griffin Knight added 11 points. Ridge Berry connected on a pair of treys and had 10 points.

Jaxon Colvin and Redick Smith rang for nine points apiece. All of Smith’s points came on 3-pointers. Connor Johnson also had a pair of treys and finished with six points.

Colton Wills led Collinsville (6-16) with 14 points. Alexi Garcia and Malachi Orr scored nine and eight points apiece. Donovan Smith and Billy Briggs both finished with six points.

Geraldine built a 25-13 first-quarter lead and held a 43-30 advantage at halftime. The Bulldogs went on a 29-9 run in the third to take a 72-39 edge.

Collinsville travels to Area 14 champion second-ranked Plainview on Monday, while Geraldine hosts Area 14 runner-up and third-ranked Fyffe in subregional action on Tuesday.
