The majority of those animals rescued from a residence located in the Rock Run community on Tuesday, October 1st, remain under constant veterinary care – and though the surviving 38 of the 47 animals continue to improve, the road to recovery will be a long one.
Three animals were found deceased at the scene and six others died within the first week, despite everyone’s best efforts to save them. They are all suffering from numerous medical conditions and malnourishment, and the healing process will take weeks – possibly even months in some cases.
Monetary donations are still desperately needed.
Veterinary care is being provided at no charge; however medical supplies for each of the 38 animals have to be purchased and all will have to be spayed or neutered before they can be released to the loving, caring, forever home that they so richly deserve.
Checks may be made out to the Cherokee Humane Society, PO Box 88, Cedar Bluff, Alabama 35959
