Gomez Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison Followed by 20 Years Probation

Gomez

24 year old Dora Vanessa Gomez was sentenced to 10 years in prison and 20 years probation this week in Floyd County Court; she was additionally ordered to pay a $2,000 fine, and she will also be required to register as a sex offender.

Gomez had been convicted on two counts each of – Child Cruelty 1st Degree, Child Cruelty 2nd Degree, Child Molestation, Sexual Battery, Pimping and Pandering.

According to that indictment, she had allowed men to have inappropriate contact with two young children in exchange for money.  On the stand she denied the accusations, blaming everything on a boyfriend who has already been convicted on several charges, including Child Molestation.  He will be sentenced next week.

Testimony from the victims, indicated that Gomez had allowed men to touch them while she was in the room with them, and that she was being given money by the men in exchange for allowing it to happen.

The abuse reportedly occurred between January 2011 and August 2012.

During sentencing Judge Tami Colston told Gomez – (quote) “this is about as despicable a crime as I can imagine’” (end-quote).
