Cherokee County will be home to a new daycare center in the not-too-distant future.

The official groundbreaking ceremony by the Cherokee County Healthcare Authority – took place March 23rd; prior to the ceremony, WEIS Radio spoke with Jerry Culberson about the new center for Healthcare Authority families:

During the ceremony Mr. Harton thanked all those who played a part in putting the project together and moving forward – he also paid tribute to a close friend who has unfortunately passed away.

The new center is expected to be completed by late September of this year.

It was pointed out that new facility would also be available for healthcare employees to use should they need a place to stay during severe weather such as snowstorms that may make travel unsafe.

Mr. Culberson said that the building is currently in the final stages of design and it’s in need of just a few final “tweaks” before construction actually begins.
