Hayes helps Piedmont blank Glencoe

GLENCOE – Piedmont sophomore quarterback Jack Hayes had touchdown passes of 14 yards to Elijah Johnson, 15 yards to Coleman Reid, 16 yards to Jaden Calhoun and 33 yards to Austin Estes to lead the top-ranked Bulldogs to a 54-0 region football victory at Glencoe on Friday night.

Hayes now has 10 touchdown passes to five different receivers this season, and it’s helped the Bulldogs start the season at 3-0 (2-0 in Class 3A, Region 5).

Johnson added a 1-yard scoring run. Cody Holloway, Parker Thornton and Luke Rhinehart also had touchdown runs for the Bulldogs.

Piedmont hosts Weaver next Friday, while Glencoe (1-2, 1-1) travels to Hokes Bluff.
