A health advisory has been issued regarding a local creek.
The DeKalb County Health Department is asking the public to avoid the waters in Big Will’s Creek in the Terrapin Hills Country Club subdivision in Fort Payne. Officials say raw and partially treated sewage is being discharged there, based on information provided by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management.
It concerns a continuing sewage overflow from the privately owned sewage system for this subdivision.
The health department advises no fishing, swimming or contact with the waters of the creek.
