Heflin police made two drug trafficking arrests in two separate incidents Wednesday.
Chief A.J. Benefield said officers conducting a traffic stop Wednesday night about 7:10 p.m. arrested Murphy Hal Turner-Scott after they smelled an odor of raw marijuana through the driver’s side window.
After a search, the officers found 13.5 pounds of marijuana. The man was arrested for drug trafficking, with bond set at $1 million.
The driver, Jeremy Fassina, had felony warrants through the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office. Inside the vehicle, officers found computers, debit cards and narcotics.
