Higgins has another big night in Gaylesville’s homecoming win over Asbury

GAYLESVILLE – Gaylesville junior fullback Keylon Higgins ran for 170 yards on 10 carries and scored three touchdowns in the Trojans’ 50-22 homecoming win over Class 3A Asbury on Friday night.

Higgins also had a solid night defensively for the Trojans (4-2). He registered seven tackles, including two for loss, with an assist and a fumble recovery.

Senior running back Michael Reynolds ran for 115 yards on 10 totes with a touchdown for Gaylesville. Defensively, he had seven tackles, including two for loss, with an assist and a fumble recovery.

Senior running back Jacob Gordon gained 100 yards on just six carries and scored two touchdowns. He also had four tackles, including one for loss, with four assists and a fumble recovery.

Junior quarterback Tanner Eads threw for 110 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown to junior receiver Seth Lee in the first half. Lee also had a pair of tackles, an assist, and forced a fumble on defense.

Sophomore defensive back Kyler Bradley also forced a fumble. Junior lineman Briley Mitchell registered eight tackles, including one for loss, with three assists. Senior defensive back Xander Watts had six tackles and an assist. Junior linebacker Bailey Glassco finished with five tackles, including two for loss, and four assists.

Gaylesville hosts Sumiton Christian next Friday. Asbury (1-4) travels to Sylvania.
