High School Football Post-Season Kicks-Off Tonight (Friday, November 8th)

The High School Football post-season begins tonight.

The formula is simple – win and stay in.

The 192 team field will be cut in half tonight with those winners taking a step toward Tuscaloosa and this year’s Super Six Championships.

Several area teams are included in the elite field that will kick off round one tonight starting with Class 1A where Gaylesville travels to Reform, AL to meet No. 1 Pickens County, and Collinsville is on the road to Hubbertville.

In Class 2A Sand Rock travels to Montgomery Academy – meanwhile, the Gaston Bulldogs visit Lanett.

Class 3A Piedmont welcomes Winfield to the Field of Champions.  The fifth ranked Bulldogs are currently 9 and 1.

Moving to Class 5A, Ft Payne is at McAdory while unbeaten Southside/Gadsden hosts Wenonah.

And finally, in Class 6A, Gadsden City opens at Bessemer City.

In College Basketball tonight – the Jacksonville State women’s team is in Oxford, Mississippi – taking on Ole Miss. Meanwhile, the men’s team is also away to meet Bradley and will then move on to a Sunday match with the University of Illinois.

On Saturday, the JSU football team will play host to Eastern Kentucky at 3:00pm; that game will also feature the Marching Southerners Annual Reunion and Military Appreciation Day – where anyone with a military ID will receive FREE admission for themselves and a guest.
