According to information contained in a news release from the Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin, a 22 year old Hokes Bluff resident has been charged in connection with the sexual abuse of a 14 year old girl.
Skylar Greyson Copeland allegedly had sex with the underage girl, and reportedly admitted to investigators that the incidents had occurred at a home in Hokes Bluff, during the month of May (2015).
The two had met through a social media website.
The incident was reported by a family member of the victim.
Copeland was charged with one count of second degree rape, as well as one count of second degree sodomy – both felonies.
He is being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on a cash bond of $20,000.
